Over the backyard she flies on the rope. A long streak of mischief, screaming with delight. Then it happens – her feet catch the wash line and sheets and towels are flung into the dirt. Crashing into the woodpile, she sends logs cascading across the yard. The chickens and dog race off in panic and Aunt Izzie, sternly from behind her spectacles mutters, “what happened? Based on the classic novel by Susan M. Coolidge, What Katy Did tells the story of Katy Carr (Alison Pill), a headstrong and energetic thirteen year-old, growing up in the countryside at the turn of the century.
