The phrase: “Guess What We’re Having For Dinner?”  takes on a whole new meaning when you hand over your keys to a complete stranger or a friend and allow them free reign over the contents of your kitchen.  Everything in your cupboards, fridge, freezer and garden is fair game.  Remember that lone can of spam that rests at the very back of the cupboard?  Well, it may be showing up on your plate for dinner.  What about that petrified pork chop at the bottom of your deep freeze that’s been there since you moved in… you better hope for applesauce!

Switchin’ Kitchens pits two sets of strangers, friends or family members against one another and convinces them to trade kitchens for an evening of epicurean adventure.  They must use their ingenuity, the ingredients at hand, (or those they can beg, borrow and steal from neighbors) to whip up a multi-course dinner, and decorate the table in just a few hours.

The only prize for their sweat and toil is the satisfaction of a job well done and the “delicious” feast that awaits them at home.
