GHOST TRACKERS SCORES TWO GEMINI NOMINATIONS
SPOOKY YOUTH REALITY PROGRAM HONOURED IN 2008
CCI Entertainment is thrilled to announce that Ghost Trackers, its hit youth reality series that features real kids in haunted locations, has been nominated for two Gemini awards: Best Children's or Youth Non-Fiction Program or Series, and Best Host in a Pre-School, Children's or Youth Program or Series. The Gemini Awards recognize the best in Canadian television. For Jim Corston, the producer, and Joe MacLeod, the host, these are their first individual nominations by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. The awards will be given out on Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 at the Lifestyle, Children, and Youth Gala.
“I am extremely proud of this series,” says Jim Corston, producer of Ghost Trackers, and Executive Vice President, Production at CCI Entertainment. “Everyone involved was so committed to the project, and the Gemini nominations are a testament to the fact that the hard work has paid off.”
A pioneer series in the youth reality genre created and developed by Chris Gudgeon and Jim Corston, Ghost Trackers features kids exploring eerie locations who have only their courage and ghost tracking equipment to help them investigate and compete with the hopes of becoming the ultimate Ghost Tracker! Ghost Trackers has aired on YTV Canada for three seasons beginning in 2005, and has recently begun airing on HBO Family in the United States. NICK Germany has also bought the rights to the series, and will soon be bringing the ghost hunting sensation to Europe.
