CAMBIUM CATALYST INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT (CCI ENTERTAINMENT ) RE-AQUIRES GULLANE LIBRARY FROM HIT ENTERTAINMENT
A new animated children's TV series to air in the UK and Canada CCI Entertainment was the Canadian associate of Gullane Entertainment through the merger of Cambium and Catalyst Entertainment in February 2002. This relationship provided CCI with a U.K. company to partner with in selected territories in the international licensing, distribution and marketing arena. HIT Entertainment, a U.K. public company acquired Gullane in the summer of 2002 and HIT became the minority shareholder of CCI. However, in February 2003, CCI amicably ended its relationship with HIT and re-acquired HIT's shares of CCI and hundreds of hours of the Gullane library. "We have a company that is larger than either Cambium or Catalyst was before. As a result, our distribution division, CCI Releasing, has grown. Its current library includes children's (live action and animation), documentaries, family movies and lifestyle programming." says Zipursky. Jill Keenleyside, who was part of Catalyst since its inception and heads up the distribution arm of CCI, says, "It has been a year of tremendous change for us and we are moving in many new directions, but change is exciting. I am thrilled to be attending MIP TV this year with not only the Gullane library but a slate of excellent programming, development deals and new co production partners."
