Life is good for the insects who live on a downtown hot-dog stand, what with the grease drippings and sloppy condiment action.  Unfortunately for Erky and Perky, the stars of the offbeat new 3-D animated series Erky Perky, paradise is lost the day they accidentally find themselves inside a takeout bag and delivered to a compulsively-cleaned, lemon-scented, suburban kitchen. With the blink of an eye, life goes from idyllically messy to sterile, and acquiring food becomes an everyday matter of survival.

Welcome to the world of Erky Perky - a unique, hilarious and visually rich YTV series, premiering on Thursday, September 7th at 7pm (repeated every Sunday following) in which two bickering bugs are forced to survive in a scary land known only as the Land of Kitchen where Erky and Perky discover a new family of dysfunctional bugs.

The Canadian-Australian co-production aimed at 7-11 year olds, introduces us to an eccentric indoor eco-system that includes bossy flying bug Mad Margaret, her "wing-man" Cecil, her beguiling niece Sajuica, the ultimate "veteran" bug Frenzel (who's survived everything from bug sprays to roach motels), oldtimer Moldy Van Oldy and Stinks, a scientifically-minded fart propelled bug.

In partnership with Australia's Ambience Entertainment, Canada's CCI Entertainment Inc., brings its latest stunning achievement to the small screen. Erky Perky - a 3D animated series (in HD format) - is a character-driven comedy with technology-driven surreality that allows characters to stretch, squash, roll into balls and lose limbs that simply grow back.

Michael Boughen, Executive producer, Ambience Entertainment adds, ‘Arnie and CCI Entertainment have been working very closely with us for a number of years as we developed and refined the series, and when we secured our local broadcasters YTV and the Seven Network, we were anxious to get to work and produce a quality series.  The result is a totally unique and engaging series which so delighted our major broadcasters that they have commissioned a second series.  The future looks very bright for our two rotund TV bugs who will find themselves in more crazy situations in the Land of Kitchen.

The first two of 26 11-minute episodes of Erky Perky will air as sneak previews on YTV on September 4th.  The first will air at 10:45 a.m., the second at 11:45. The series will premiere in its regular timeslot on Thursday, September 7th at 7pm (with repeats every Sunday at 1pm).

Erky Perky is a co-production between Ambience Entertainment and CCI Entertainment Ltd with animation by the LaB Sydney.
